Saturday 21 July was a busy day for the Hellfire Harlots, not only did we host our fifth masterclass, Thrills and Skills but we also sent three fearless Harlots to represent us at Sunnydale Frights, hosted by the Northampton Shoetown Slayers.
Dr C’Nister, Falcon Rouge and Kill’Her Instinct played in the warm up B-team mixed bout where the Carpe Demons faced the White Hats.
Dr C’Nister played for the White Hats and Falcon Rouge and Kill’Her Instinct played for the Carpe Demons, joined by former Hellfire Harlot (and now CCR player), Betty Bloodshed who captained the Demons.
As always, there can only be one winner and with two skaters down, the Demons fought admirably but couldn’t hold back the White Hat’s jammers. Final score was White Hats 128 – Carpe Demons 77.
Following the White Hat’s triumph, Northampton Shoetown Slayers met the Swansea City Slayers on the track with Swansea winning with a final score of 61-225.
Mixed bouts are a great opportunity for newer skaters to cut their teeth in public and gain great bout experience.
It can be really hard working skaters who you have only met hours ago as it can take a little time to gel and adapt your styles to fit together and do a win but this experience is hugely valuable to skaters who are ready to learn how to switch it up and respond to different tactics with skaters of mixed abilities.
