Last Saturday saw the Nottingham Hellfire Harlots host their debut bout!!
We had started to set up the venue the night before, the track was laid and all the chairs were set out into position. The day of the bout came, the team arrived at 10am as we still had loads to do. After a few hours of running around we opened the doors just after 12.30pm.
We were amazed by the number of people who had come to support us and Hot Wheel Roller Derby
The first game was White Heat Vs Black Flame. These were teams made up of skaters for across the UK. At the end of the first half White Heat had taken the lead and the score was 75 – 52. It was a very exciting half to watch with White Heat getting several power jams that helped them gain that lead.
During the second half Black Flames stepped up to close the gap. The game finished and the final score was Black Flame 99 White Heat 136. Well done to everyone who played!!
After a short break it was time for the main event, the Hellfire Harlots take on Hot Wheel Roller Derby.
The skate outs started, The Hellfire Harlots skating out to Pantera’s Cowboys from Hell and Hot Wheel skating out to Ant and Dec’s Lets get ready to rumble. Both teams were wearing new uniforms and really looked the part.
It was a very close game with Hellfire Harlots taking an early lead 31 – 8. Hot Wheel soon stepped up and closed that gap! At the end of the first half the score was Hellfire Harlots 52 Hot Wheel 44.
The second half was just as exciting with Hellfire Harlots increasing the point difference. The game ended with Hellfire Harlots winning, the score was 114 to Hellfire Harlots to 101 to Hot Wheel Roller Derby! Well done to both teams! We are looking forward to the rematch!!
The awards from the main game went to:
Hellfire Harlots: Best Jammer – Joannasaurus, Best Blocker to Terroryaki Smak and MVP to El Visious
Hot Wheel: Best Jammer – Pussy Rollmore, Best Blocker – Gazelle and MVP – Nuclear Miss-ile.
